Talk to someone if you get stuck

Many people handle overpayments without an attorney. But if you need help along the way, contact a lawyer. Sometimes, even a short phone call or consultation can help steer you in the right direction.

  • Oregon offers a free Lawyer Referral Service to help you find a lawyer. If you contact a lawyer through this service, you are entitled to a 30-minute consultation for $35.
  • If you can’t afford a lawyer, you can also get free advice from Oregon's Public Benefits Hotline.
